Lifetime warranty on the hardware
Every TruLight system professionally installed by a certified dealer carries a lifetime warranty on the LED hardware, valid from the day of installation, covering 100,000 hours of operation. DIY kits installed by the homeowner are not covered. Register your warranty in under two minutes.
Warranty terms
100,000 hours
LED rating is 100,000 hours of operation. At average evening use of 4 to 6 hours per night, that's 50 to 70 years.
From day of installation
Warranty period starts the day the system is installed at your property — not the date of purchase.
Non-transferable by default
The warranty is tied to the original install address and customer. Transfers may be approved by corporate as exceptions.
What is covered
- LED hardware failure under normal use
- Controller box hardware failure
- Manufacturing defects in tracks, lights, and connectors
- Wire harness defects from the factory
What is not covered
- Any system not professionally installed by a certified TruLight dealer, including DIY kits installed by the homeowner
- Damage from physical impact (lawnmower, hail beyond warranty cap, ladder strikes)
- Damage from intentional modification or tampering
- Cosmetic wear from normal aging (sun fading on track exterior)
- Acts of God (flood, fire, lightning strike to home electrical)
Transfer policy
TruLight warranties are non-transferable by default. The warranty is tied to the original install address and original customer. If a homeowner sells their home, the new owner does not automatically inherit the warranty.
Transfer requests may be reviewed by TruLight corporate on a case-by-case basis. Submit a request via the dealer who installed the system or by contacting corporate at warranty@thetrulight.com. Approved transfers do not extend the original 100,000-hour rating; the clock continues from the original install date.
How to make a claim
All warranty claims run through the certified dealer who installed your system. Coverage applies only to systems professionally installed by a certified TruLight dealer. DIY kits installed by the homeowner are not covered.
- Look up your warranty using the warranty lookup tool.
- Contact the certified dealer who installed your system. They will schedule a diagnostic visit.
- If the dealer confirms a covered failure, they will file a claim through the corporate portal and replacement hardware will be shipped to them.
- If you cannot reach your selling dealer, email warranty@thetrulight.com with your certificate number and we will route you to the nearest active dealer.
Claim turnaround
Most claims are resolved within 7 to 14 business days from the date a dealer files. Expedited shipping is available for urgent failures (e.g., total system outage in a holiday-lighting use case).
